My dad is my hero and inspiration. It is wanting to see his name as an author that drives me to fulfil the dream of publishing his stories.

I am one of four children to Alan and Christine Williams. We were brought up in a village in North Bristol. I can still remember vividly our family holidays to Devon where the stories of Charlie Crab first originated.

Those who have met my dad will say he is hard to forget. At 87 he is still telling his stories to his great-grandchildren and I use them in my work with children.

I learnt so many life skills from our time on the beaches, rock pools and cliffs without realising it. Overcoming my fear of heights, feeling safe and secure in the middle of the night with strange noises all around me, making new friends and memories, managing my pocket money to spend on the last night!

As I grew older, I appreciated the effort my parents put into making family time and holidays special for us.  It wasn’t until I became a parent myself that I truly understood the sacrifices they made to give us those experiences.

Watching my own grandchildren grow up, I see how important it is to create those same memories for them.

Family get-togethers often revolve around those incredible years.

My tutoring business is called CRAB CONSULTANCY: Creating Resilience and Belonging.  We all need to feel that we belong in this world. We all need happy memories to treasure. May these stories begin that journey for you.
